Local Delivery Agents

Under Phase One of the Modernisation Fund Grants Programme, 48 members of local and regional Consortia across England are acting as Local Delivery Agents for the Modernisation Fund Grants programme. They have been working closely with a range of third sector organisations across England to explore how the impact of the economic downturn is affecting them and looking at how working more closely with others, including through collaboration or merger, could increase their reach, reduce overhead costs or increase income.

Workshops

During May and June Local Delivery Agents ran a series of workshops to explore the impact of the economic downturn and signpost organisations to useful resources and introduce you to the Modernisation Fund Grants Programme.

Each workshop allowed organisations to:

•look at how the economic downturn may be affecting organisations and the local communities they serve
•look at what organisations can do to respond to the challenge and increase their impact and become more resilient by working more closely with others
•learn more about a range of useful resources that are available locally, regionally and nationally
•find out more about how to apply for the new Modernisation Fund Grants Programme

Phase One delivery

From June, Local Delivery Agents have been working with organisations in receipt of £1,000 bursaries; signposting to advisers with the necessary skills to provide the advice and assistance they need. Over 500 bursary awards have been made under Phase One of the programme.
